Biographie

Bénédicte Fontaine-Bisson est professeure agrégée à l'École des sciences de la nutrition et diététiste professionnelle. Elle a obtenu son doctorat en sciences de la nutrition (spécialisation en nutrigénétique) à l'Université de Toronto et a effectué un stage postdoctoral en épidémiologie génétique à l'Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale (INSERM) à Paris. Son programme de recherche étudie l’impact de la nutrition durant la grossesse et l’enfance sur la santé maternelle et infantile. Elle met l’accent sur l’amélioration des interventions et des services périnataux nutritionnels offerts aux populations vulnérables vivant dans des circonstances difficiles (ex. pauvreté, faible niveau d’éducation, dépendance à la drogue). Elle utilise une approche interdisciplinaire et des stratégies concertées qui impliquent des chercheurs, des acteurs communautaires, des professionnels de la santé et des utilisateurs des connaissances travaillant ensemble pour améliorer la nutrition, la santé et le bien-être des familles.

Dre Fontaine-Bisson est chercheure affiliée à l’Institut du Savoir Montfort (Hôpital Montfort) et au Centre de recherche du Centre intégré de santé et des services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais. Elle a reçu le Prix d’excellence en enseignement décerné par la Faculté des sciences de la santé (Université d’Ottawa) , Prix d’excellence en mobilisation des connaissances – niveau national ou international (Université d’Ottawa), ainsi que  du financement de recherche des Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada (IRSC), de l’Institut du savoir Montfort et du Consortium national de formation en santé (CNFS).
