Christine J. McPherson

Biographie

Christine McPherson est psychologue de la santé et infirmière autorisée. Elle a obtenu son doctorat à l’Institute of Palliative Care and Policy du King's College, de Londres (Royaume-Uni). Elle est professeure agrégée à l'École des sciences infirmières de l’Université d'Ottawa où elle enseigne la recherche et les soins palliatifs au deuxième cycle en maîtrise ès sciences infirmières, ainsi qu’au programme de doctorat. 

La professeure McPherson participe actuellement à plusieurs études sur les soins à la famille, l'évaluation et la gestion des symptômes, et les problèmes psychosociaux dans le contexte des maladies avancées.  Elle a notamment publié des articles dans les domaines des communications, de la prestation de soins palliatifs et des interventions psychologiques pour le National Health Service (NHS) Centre for Reviews and Dissemination de l'Université de York (Royaume-Uni).  Elle a également élaboré des lignes directrices pour les soins de fin de vie pour l'Association des infirmières et infirmiers autorisés de l'Ontario.

La professeure McPherson est membre fondatrice de l’Unité de recherche et enseignement en soins infirmiers palliatifs (URESIP).
